INGREDIENTS:
- 3 cups warm water (baby bottle warm)
- 1 1/2 Tablespoons yeast
- 1/3 cup sugar
Cover and let dissolve 10 minutes. Then add:
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 Tablespoon salt
- 1/3 cup melted coconut oil
- 8ish cups flour (give or take 1/2 cup)
DIRECTIONS:
- Add flour until the dough pulls away from the side of the bowl. Dough should be elastic and tacky but not so sticky that it heavily sticks to the palm of your hand. Do not add too much flour!
- Knead for 15 min (by hand or using a mixer)
- Let rise 45 minutes or until doubled while covered with a clean dish towel.
- Divide dough in half, and each half into 16 portions.
- Form into knots or breadsticks or into a roll shape.
- Spread on melted butter and seasoning topping (see below).
- Make sure each surface of dough is covered by the butter or it will dry out.
- Let rise uncovered for an hour or until doubled.
- Bake 380 for about 15 min or until golden on top.
TOPPING:
- 6-8 Tablespoons butter, melted
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon basil dried
- 1/2 teaspoon parsley dried
- 1 cup (4 oz.) freshly grated Parmesan
Combine these ingredients in a bowl and spread on the dough before the final rise using a food/silicone brush.
